1. Dancing with Death

I almost committed suicide in August of 2017.

I’d made plans. In fact, I’d started to put part of it into action, unbeknownst to those closest to me. When my wife found out, after I was in a safe place, she was totally shocked.

I write of this experience, to share what I went through, to let others know that depression is a reality, and that pain can lead us down paths we never knew existed. I wish to highlight that help can be obtained in Singapore, even if imperfect, so that anyone else in the same situation can seek the help that they need, without shame or worry.

And I hope my story will encourage, rather than cause further pain or division.
